Abhilash Arun Sapre is an Assistant Professor of Law and an expert in Constitutional Law at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, where he has been teaching since October 2023. He has submitted his PhD thesis at the same institution, focusing on tribal displacement amidst Naxalite conflict in Chhattisgarh, a critical socio-legal issue, since enrolling as a research scholar in 2020. He holds an LLM in Constitutional Law from National Law University, Odisha (2017-2018), and has qualified for UGC-NET (2020) and MH-SET (2019), demonstrating his academic excellence.
His expertise spans Constitutional and Administrative Law, Labour Law, Human Rights, and Jurisprudence, with prior teaching roles at Symbiosis Law School, Hyderabad and Alliance University, Bengaluru. He has authored book "Democracy in Action: A Casebook on Indian Elections" (Thomson Reuters, 2025) and has published extensively in Scopus and Web of Science-indexed journals with prestigious publishers like Sage, Taylor & Francis, and Wiley. His research explores pressing issues such as Refugee law, manual scavenging, Displacement, Human rights and climate resilience.
He has presented papers at national and international conferences, earning the best paper presenter award at an international seminar by NLUO and NCW in 2022. He has served as a guest speaker, moot court judge, and faculty coordinator for events like national moot court competitions and model United Nations conferences. His administrative roles include Faculty In-Charge of the Moot Court Association at Symbiosis Law School and convener of Alliance University’s moot court committee.
Beyond academia, he has excelled in co-curricular activities, including moot courts and debates, contributing to his well-rounded profile. He is committed to advancing legal education and scholarship, making significant contributions through teaching, research, and institutional leadership.
